Q.  What is windshield repair?

A.  Windshield repair is the process in which a clear resin is injected into the damaged glass.  As the cracks fill, the damage seems to go away.  Once it has been filled and the resin cured, the repair is complete.

Q.  Will the damage disappear?

A.  You should NOT expect the repair to be totally invisible.  But in most instances the repair will be barely noticeable.  You can usually expect at least a 90% improvement in the appearance of your windshield.  This will depend on the type, age, and location of the individual chip or crack.

Q.  Will my insurance rates go up?

A.  Not for a repair claim.  Insurance companies have found it is cheaper to pay for repairs than to assist you in paying for an entire windshield.  Ask your agent if you have any questions about your situation.

Q.  How soon can I drive after a repair?

A.  Immediately!  You can even go through a carwash.

Q.  Why don't other companies repair long cracks?

A.  Unfortunately, they can make a larger profit by replacing your windshield.  At Chip & Crack Windshield Repair, we believe you should "Repair first, replace only when necessary".  In fact, we believe this philosophy so much that we don't replace windshields!  If it can't be repaired safely then we will refer you to someone to replace it.
